Game Overview
Among Us Basics
Among Us is a multiplayer social deduction game developed by Innersloth and first released on June 15, 2018. It started as a mobile game and later expanded to PC and other platforms. In each match, players take the role of Crewmates or Impostors on a spaceship or other game map. Crewmates need to complete tasks, deal with sabotages, report dead bodies, and vote out the Impostors, while Impostors try to eliminate the crew without getting caught. The game supports 4 to 15 players, so a round can feel very different depending on the group, the number of Impostors, and how players react during meetings.
How to Get Started
- Join a game and wait for the round to begin.
- You will be given a role: Crewmate or Impostor.
- As a Crewmate, check the task list and start doing your jobs.
- Move around the map and pay attention to the other players.
- Found a body? Hit the Report button.
- You can also call an Emergency Meeting if something looks wrong.
- Talk with everyone during the meeting and share what you saw.
- Vote when you have a good reason, or skip if there is not enough information.
- If you are the Impostor, pretend to do tasks and try not to look suspicious.
- Sabotage the ship when you get a good chance to split people up.
Detailed Instructions
- Do your tasks: Finishing tasks helps the Crewmates move toward a team win.
- Watch people: Keep track of who was nearby before something happened.
- Check the map: Admin and Security can give you useful information during a round.
- Report bodies: Do not assume the closest player is automatically the Impostor.
- Use meetings well: Say where you were, what you were doing, and who you saw.
- Think before voting: A wrong vote can make the next part of the game much harder.
- If you are Impostor: Stay around other players sometimes so your movements look normal.
- Use sabotage: Sabotages can pull players away from each other and create openings.
- Keep your explanation simple: When people start asking questions, a long story can make things worse.
Extra Tips
- Remember player names and where you saw them.
- Do not accuse someone just because they were nearby.
- Doing tasks around other players can give you an alibi.
- Pay attention when someone suddenly changes direction or leaves an area.
- During meetings, listen to what other players said earlier instead of only focusing on the latest accusation.
- As an Impostor, do not rush every opportunity. Sometimes waiting is safer.
- Try not to make every sabotage look like part of the same plan.
- There is no big score to chase in Among Us. The fun is more about reading other players and making the right call.
- If you like this kind of gameplay, try similar games built around teamwork, deception, social deduction, and multiplayer challenges.
